QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS
A distinguished member of the North Carolina State Bar with seventeen years of combined legal and judicial experience. Krystle Melvin graduated with her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia in 2009; and has been licensed by the State Bar since that time. Her legal experience is varied and extensive in both criminal prosecution, criminal defense, child welfare, and complex civil litigation providing a balanced perspective rare in the district court.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Known for her leadership beyond the courthouse, Krystle is also a minister and a lifelong advocate for the underserved. Growing up in South Lumberton, a largely minority, underprivileged area, Krystle learned to appreciate the importance of a quality education and community-centered organizations. Krystle's commitment to the community is evidenced by her service on multiple boards dedicated to serving the underserved.
JUDICIAL EXPERIENCE
Currently serving as District Court Judge, Krystle has presided over thousands of criminal and civil matters. Her courtroom is recognized for its efficiency, impartiality, and tireless commitment to the rule of law, protecting the rights of all citizens who appear before the bench.
